SGG Immigration LLP (formerly known as Stone Grzegorek & Gonzalez LLP) was founded in October 2005 by Lincoln Stone and Kathleen Grzegorek, two experienced immigration law practitioners who are certified as specialists in immigration law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization). Only a small percentage of immigration law attorneys have certified specialist standing, which is attained based on depth and breadth of immigration law experience, specialized legal education courses, rigorous examination, and professional references. We have more certified specialists in immigration law than any other law firm.
The law firm’s expertise covers a broad range of matters, including investor, employment, and family-based immigration, as well as removal proceedings, federal court appeals, I-9 and IRCA compliance, asylum and naturalization.
Our pro bono cases have involved – juvenile immigrants who have been abused, neglected or abandoned; immigrants in federal detention; victims of human trafficking; an immigrant war veteran suffering from a post-service mental disorder; immigrants seeking asylum from persecution; as well as a wide array of other immigrants who are unable to pay for the cost of legal services required to pursue immigration benefits. We have the privilege of coordinating our pro bono work with the amazingly-dedicated staff of effective nonprofit organizations like the Catholic Charities Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project, Public Counsel, American Civil Liberties Union, and the Coalition to Abolish Slavery & Trafficking.
Attorneys at the law firm also serve in various volunteer positions for the State Bar of California, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Our attorneys participate in the law firm-organized Law Day, and we directly represent indigent immigrants in court and before USCIS. Many of us also are members of various charitable and public service organizations.
Stone Grzegorek & Gonzalez LLP strives to foster and maintain a diverse culture that values respect, inclusion and teamwork. We believe a law firm that attracts and rewards the broad range of experiences, perspectives and ideas of a diverse group is more innovative and more effective in problem solving, resulting in better outcomes and better service for our clients.
Our attorneys and staff are from all over the world and speak many different languages including Arabic, Armenian, Gujarati, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, Spanish, and Urdu. Many of us have been through the immigration process and understand how difficult and confusing this process can be for immigrants. In turn, we strive to make the immigration process as easy and stress-free as possible.
